Description
Mila Dobrevska, born in 1999, completed her secondary education at “Lazar Lichenoski” in Skopje, where she majored in painting and earned the title of the best student in her generation. In 2021, she graduated as a visual artist and mosaicist from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna, Italy, where she studied in Italian. Currently, Mila is in the final stages of completing her master’s degree, specializing in mosaic, at the same academy.
Mila has participated in more than 20 solo and group exhibitions, workshops, and artistic colonies in Macedonia, Spain and Italy. She is a member of the Society of Fine Artists of Macedonia (DLUM) as well as the MARTE Association for contemporary mosaics in Ravenna.
Mila’s work is mainly presented through the techniques of mosaic and painting. With its unique artistic language, combining the expressive movements of the brush and the play of the colored surfaces, she aims to capture and awaken strong human emotions. The works represent an exploration of the soul and the subconscious in its most intimate, personal state. With the clean and bold color, the observer is drawn into the emotional landscapes created by the artist.
Compositions and Reflections are as the name suggests a mixture of compositions – abstract rectangular and square paintings that suggest an occurrence of a figure or some kind of intimate setting, and reflections – and quick and instinctive square paintings that represent memories of people and faces that the artist has seen, met or loved.
