Anita Ognjanovska is Macedonian abstract artist who lives and works in Skopje.
Ognjanovska builds her creative adventure in the limitless fields of abstract expressionism. With broad and secure strokes, the oils speak of a play that engages the artist. It is a play of profound honesty, courage, and freedom of self or inner exploration. The creative curiosity evolves and culminates, making the act of painting a liberation of the inner urge, intimate, and fully honest microcosm.
She often rejects all tools/brushes and paints directly from a tube, sometimes mixed on the canvas directly with her hands and fingers, smearing the paint and leaving her own fingerprints as a sign of a powerful and intense painting expression. What matters to the author is the very act of painting guided by the inner impulse. Hence, her dialogue with the canvas never starts rationally and intentionally. It comes instinctively, aiming to beat and conquer the whiteness of the canvas and create a total denseness of color.
